Last year I faced a lot of personal trauma that drove me into a very dark place, losing all hope and questioning everything. No matter how much I wanted to give up, I always found something or someone to keep me going. When going through my photography to reflect on memories, I found this photo I had captured of a swan. It actually was a ‘mistake’ photo because my settings were off and didn’t get any of the background, just blackness. It has turned out to be one of my favorites, because seeing the brilliant white swim through the dark is mesmerizing to me. Even though his neck seems to have vanished into the background, he still shines. It inspired me that no matter what I’m facing, even though it feels I am fading,
I am the Light and will overcome.
